Black Elvis (Colbert Hamilton) presents his tribute to Barack Obama. It's a version of "If I Can Dream" by Elvis Presley which featured in the '68 Comeback Special. It features excepts from Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech.
BRAVO FOR COLBERT, BEAUTIFUL VERSION !, I AM SURE ELVIS WOULD BE PROUD OF BEEN THE FIRST WHITE SINGER TO SING THAT SONG, HE WAS NO RACIST, HE BELIEVED IN EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL, HE TOOK THE SWEET INSPIRATION TO VEGAS AND SANG " IN THE GHETTO " ON THE STAGE, IN THE MOST SOFISTICATED CITY OF THE US, AND ONLY FOR WHITE PEOPLE BY THOSE DAYS, ALL MY RESPECT FOR ELVIS AND FOR THE ONES THAT MAKE HIS DREAM COMES TRUE !.
This is so wrong on all counts. First, we don't need no Black Elvis, no more than we need a white Stevie Wonder. Next, Barack Obama does not need a tribute. He hasn't done anything right since he got in office. He promised everyone access to health care, he promised we'd get out of Iraq. He has not come through on either promise. Playing a video comparing Obama to Martin Luther King is wrong as well. They have nothing in common other than being black.
@mactopolis I filmed the video and edited it with Colbert. He is a huge Elvis fan and loves this song, but also a great singer in his own right. I think Colbert is one of the best singers in the UK, and it's a travesty that he's not more well known.
@KLUNKET I'm sure you're right, but it's a gimmick for Colbert and it gets people to stand up and take notice of both him and of Elvis' music. Colbert has definitely made his own name for over 25 years with both the Hell Razors and the Nitros, who were and are PHENOMENAL bands, and now he's doing the Elvis schtick, but in his own voice. It's just a little twist on the typical impersonator bit.

Moving, brilliant and the most creative thing I have seen for long time by an Elvis act
