Thank you... this year, I will again be chasing but now I may catch it! :)

Yes, but only on this trip. They always run "backwards" between L'Orignal and the wye in Hawkesbury.

That spur must be one of the last true branch lines in Ontario that gets trains of appreciable length. I imagine that's pretty light rail that they are running on and six-axle units would be prohibited. Thanks for posting because I was born too late to see the last stand of branchline running before it was all ripped up.

Thanks!
It seems to be a mix of 80 and 100 lb rail on this line; where it changes, fishplates are marked 80A on one end and 100RA on the other. I have spotted rail pieces from the late 1920s near the crossings but there are rumours of older pieces!

I just visited this crossing today... Do you know when this train passes through? I have been trying to catch it for almost a year now...

I believe it is a mid-morning departure from Vankleek Hill, southbound to Coteau, arriving at Glen Robertson after VIA 33 (~11:00). When done in Coteau, it's north to L'Orignal, and finally south again to end at Vankleek Hill.
