The Oregon Zoo is actually creating a new six acre exhibit and they are creating their own (potentially 200 acre) off site elephant center.

Not all zoos use bull hooks to beat the elephants. A few years back a keeper was fired from the Oregon Zoo because he hit one of the elephants. I know some of the keepers there and I have felt the bull hooks. they really are not that sharp and are not supposed to be used to hit the elephants. The keepers I know told me that if an elephant really wants to hurt you, that little hook won't stop it. What we need to do is try and support the zoos that are doing it right.

Elephants can be in Zoos such as the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. Elephants should be gone from Circuses though

Another great video, Jeff. People need to know about these important animal issues. Elephants don't belong in zoos or circuses.
