Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven; Performed by Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra January 14, 1952 in Carnegie Hall; No copyright is intended; the purpose of this video is meant to show the genius of Maestro Toscanini, the NBC Symphony Orchestra, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Toscanini heeds Weingartner's advice about this movement in which he rightly said that a brook doesn't slow down and speed up and yet some consductors impose all sorts of ritardandi and rubati to this piece. It's all flowing and natural here yet never metronomic.
