This is for Chinese learners as it has subtitles for you to look at. I was tryna find a video of beijing accent but there wasn any out there on youtube, hence this video you're watching now. for those who have no idea what beijing accent mandarin sounds like, now this should work for yall. Cross talk is one of the Chinese traditional folk arts mainly in northern China featuring two performers talking with each other on the stage in a very spoken, humorous, and teasing way that makes the audience laugh. PS. beijing accent is bit different from what was defined as the standard official language of Mandarin in that it contains way too many local dialectical expressions. but usually beijingers are very proud of their own accent. if you're in beijing but speaking with a non beijing accent, then unfortunately you'll feel like an outsider and prob get looked down upon by the locals.

  • So, what is the difference between Beijing accent and Shanghai accent?.

  • Beijing dialect is what Mandarin is essentially based off of. Not everyone can speak Mandarin like the people of Beijing, but its not too off based. The er sounds more proper and sophisticated, but few really try to adopt that sound just to pretend they were from Beijing.

  • @justmine4me oh the first question.. think about british acccent, or those news hosts im just guessing

  • @justmine4me soo.. since ur a foreigner i suggest u to start from putonghau thats the official way to speak. plus everyone will understant u. im from Beijing, u know what, we consider Beijijng hua as Putonghua sometimes, haha but honestly they sound mabye 65% the same. but there is one thing you should know, the accent is involved with the cultuer, so its kinda hard to really understant what they mean or why we use that( i mean the accent) Beijing accent sounds better though.

  • @LUCASzihao Thanks! More questions. 1) If you speak Putonghua all of the time, is it awkard or too artificial/textbook-like? 2) On a scale of 0 to 100 (100 being exactly the same), how much is Beijinghua different from Putonghua? 3) Which one should I learn?

  • @justmine4me he has no accent we called that 普通话 meaning normal mandarin

  • @geolog12 So what Mandarin accent does the shorter guy have?

  • @HanQ The one on the left with the narrow face.

  • ...so which one is beijing

  • 老爷子蔫坏,太有意思了
