only the racetrack was used. the car engine was based on another tutorial but it was thoroughly improved.

@Tailzrules dude, the GTA IV producers used like the most expensive graphic equipment to make the game, im just grateful that you could get some pretty decent graphics with a FREE gaming software like Unity

@Vicinalace I know how that all works, but unity is what is used still to put everything out there. The engine used for rFactor is good, but it is not capable of gran-turismo level graphics because the engine is a limiting factor. Sure the engine does the physics, but it still has a bearing on what it is you can do.

@seriousman99 The GTA 4 developers made their own development engine, the graphics all depend on the user, you can make unity look better then GTA 4 if you wanted too.

@sheepborg You do know that unity has it's own physics engine right? And that realism or other factors lie with the developer and not in the engine?

Unity is a fantastic thing.

And the graphics are great in this.

The physics needs work, and lots of it, but it is a good proof of concept of how capable unity is.
