LIVE on December 10, 2010 in Saarbrücken, Germany
Antonin Dvorak: Concerto for violin and orchestra op. 53 in a minor
Augustin Hadelich, violin
Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern (German Radio Philharmonic)
Christoph Poppen, conductor
@stringisking I agree--this guy is unbelievable. I studied this concerto for a little while and it's hard! The orchestral breaks are short and the violinist is playing loud or fast almost all of the time. Mr. Hadelich's fast and spot-on octaves in the coda are breathtaking.

this is far and away better than Janine Jansen's recording.

Who is this guy?! How come I have never heard of him before?! For those of you that have heard Janine Jansen's live recording with Sir Mark Elder of this concerto, I'm sure you thought that set the mark.. But this?! This is on at least on par with Jansen's recording if not better.. The lacklustre appluse was so unworthy of this close to flawless performance!
