Matt Slick (president of www.carm.org) debates Edwin Kagin (2005 Atheist of the year) in Pensecola, FL in April, 2008. Can the atheist worldview account for rationality/logic? No. The Christian worldview can; therefore, atheism cannot be true.
This girl asking the question is confused.... Agreeing on the laws of logic would be a part of logical positivism theory like conventionalism... Of course, logical positivism has already fell.
The sad this is what is missing here . People go to hell for one reason because of sin .Have you ever lied before stolen something etc . God is holy and perfect sin cannot stand in the presence of a Holy God . God is a righteous judge he must punish sin child molester liar thieves fornicators Hitler Charles mansion etc . So when we sin there is a price to pay for sin. Only Jesus can pay that debt for us he is perfect he knew no sin and died in our place because he could stand before God
She is going back and forth on her question, rearranging it when she doesn't like the answer. He is asking her for clarification and she just jumps to the other side. Matt is defending her from ridicule when someone tries to do so. The mediator does a good job of keeping the hostility down. I am seeing a lot of frustration here on both sides.
Is this girls question "What can I say to make your argument wrong?" because she certainly is avoiding defining what she believes these "thinkers" did. She says agreed, that means they either made them up or observed that they actually occurred. But then says "not invented(made up) agreed on what's logical..." is she insane? And the beard guy understands...I do to. She wants to be right whether or not Slick understands what she is saying.
All of you have tried to give an answer for the question. Good effort and it comes to nowhere. Anything that you believe in thru logical thinking is tied up with changes. Ideas presented in this discussion are of no exception and you will be dispointed at so called 'truth' of illogical thinking at some other time.
PS: As a Creationist, I get very frustrated with the lack of people skills shown on both sides of this particular debate. The Christian doesn't do anyone any good by not approaching this in a spirit of meekness.
Worldviews can blind anyone. Evidence is interpreted by our worldview framework; until we address the validity of worldviews, we will only go in circles. And God doesn't send anyone to hell; He gives them a choice.
