not even if u get the leader its not a caught fish u have to board it your not going to go into a tournament and say we caught the fish wen the fish actually broke off ...thats jus how fishing goes but nice fish

I was in Kona last year and my dad, uncle and I caught two 40-50 pound ono's and 3 ahi.

Never understood that "rule" about a fish being caught if you touch the leader. These guys were clearly trying to land and kill that fish (gaff), but it broke off. Inspite of being a great battle, in the end they failed. Had it broke off while they were actively trying to release it, then you could say it was caught. Oh well, if they feel better...

Never understood the "rule" that if you touch the leader its a caught fish. They clearly intended to kill the fish (gaff was ready) and it broke off. Sucks, but they lost it.
