  • THere is one country I do need to visit one day - and it's the beautiful Namibia !!!

  • @itube612 Agreed. You must plan to spend (at least) several days at Etosha National Park. It is a huge area (120 kms by 80 kms?). The animals are fantastic and the lodges are first class: beautiful (cheap) South African wines and game dishes served "al fresco". That takes a lot of beating!!!

  • @alanccoop South perfect. I know imported s.african wines, they're great.

Have you been to namibian beaches and perhaps visted the desert?

    Were Namibian people generally friendly?

  • @itube612 The clip of Tsintsabis would be considered desert. There are some huge dunes on the way to Swakopmund/ Walvis Bay but I ran out of time. . "Were the people friendly?". There is a lot of resentment to "white people" by the "black people" and I suppose that's because of memories of the apartheid era. In Namibia there are the locals and the Afrikaners (mainly Dutch descent). I still corespond with some of my "black" friends but a lot of them I wouldn't give the time of day.

  • @itube612 .Because there is a lot of hunger and no "social security" (government medical/financial support) people get very cunning and dishonest:. (they probably would not survive otherwise). Every house has a 2 metre high fence and a rottweiler dog. in the backyard. They have Security guards frisking younger locals at the supermarkets! When I went to the Cheetah Conservation Park I had to pay about $15US to get in. I demanded a receipt but had to wait for 5 minutes until he found the book!
