http://www.gethappy.ca While "discussing" how clean bonnet/padding gets carpet, ie suggesting that pad/bonnet cleaning mostly spreads soil around which hides the soil making a carpet "APPEAR CLEAN", it was suggested that I test my own steam cleaning by wiping the area with a white cloth.

Padders make the claim they get the carpet "clean" and since we can't remove ALL soil, that method makes a carpet just as clean as hot water extraction. So I took the challenge.

  • I use this vacuum because of what you see before you. It works and I can trust it. Been using this model since 95. Also, its easy to troubleshoot and easy to repair. Faster is not always better.

If you look at the soil, see the white areas at the top. If I had a bag vacuum I wouldn't have known to work the area in front of the deck door to remove that fibre powder.

  • Why do you use a bagless vacuum? I sure that a Sanitaire or similar would have much more air-flow and would clean the carpet quicker and probably better. If you had a dirt-cup model it you could still see what you were picking up.
