The Middle East Institute is proud to host Middle East Times Editor Claude Salhani for a discussion of his newly released book, While the Arab World Slept: The Impact of the Bush Years on the Middle East, in which the author examines the results of the Bush administrations policies in the region, including the effects of the three wars the war on terror, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He will also examine the regions stagnation in the areas of civil and individual rights and the paradox of the Middle East as a region rich in resources both natural and human yet lagging behind much of the rest of the world in human rights, education, social welfare, and minority and womens rights.
I respected the middle east institute until I saw this video.
US pushing for democracy in the middle east? Are you fucking kidding me? Why in the WORLD would it want to do such a thing, to shoot itself in the foot?
Democracy elected the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Hezbollah. Democracy in the middle east is the ENEMY of the US. These people live in their own little world.
