"may the Fire King's daughter bring water to you "
An utterly sublime song

lovely video for one of my favourite ISB song... Robin Williamson at his best.. Joe Boyd told me Caetano Veloso spent one full year in Africa with a single tape and one side it was Hangman's Beautiful Daughter.. he listed every single day for a full year.. that was shortly before he started Os Mutantes I think and a long way before he became an International acclaimed brasilian star singer/songwriter.. I'm saying thiis to unnderline that ISB influence stretched very far..Love to all ISB fans

"We are the table cloth and also the table..." one of my favorite poetic lines by Robin - but then again, there are so many. Nice little collection of images you've put together to accompany this tune.

Don't know which ISB song is my favorite, but this one is definitely tied for first place :) We are the tablecloth and also the table...

I've played this for over 40 years - never looses its appeal, its power, its joyousness! And Air IS strong...
I was 18 in May 1968 ...I'm 60 next year.
The String Band means so much to me. So many very good memories. My best friend, who turned me on to the ISB died in my arms last year.
It's good to know there are others who shared, in their own way, what I loved about this music. There is, of course, tons of other music that I love but...if I landed on a desert island at least one of my tracks would have to be by the Incredible String Band.

I totally agree, there is just something about them. i love youtube as people can so easily share their experiences about all the music that is on here, it really brings people together I feel.

How many times did I sing this as a lullaby to my kid? I like your fiddling a lot. And these guys rank very high with me, to my mind a '60s troubadour music, up with Dylan and Donovan. That said though, my desert island records would be Mingus, Thelonious Monk and some Rheinhart/Grappelli sides.
