@TheSoyMilkConspiracy Correction... white skin and caucasians are valued above anyone else in all countries on this planet.. white supremacy is the world law.. the saddest thing apart from sexism where men are valued above anyone else in all countries.

What Dove is doing for so many young girls is amazing. It isn't simply a marketing tactic, though it may be working as one. If you did your research, you'd know that. They wouldn't go to the trouble of doing free-of-charge workshops and outreach stuff with young girls and teenagers if they were solely in it for the money. They have teamed up with many organizations in the battle against eating disorders (is this parody-worthy too?), and Dove's role is to start kids off early knowing their worth.

lmfao only idiots dont get this.

Unilever also owns Axe and Slim-Fast...basically the Dove Real Beauty Campaign was only effective because of campaigns like Axe and Slim-Fast being around for so long, otherwise there would be nothing for Dove to raise money for; women and girls would not need help with their self-esteem. Brilliant on Dove's part, but sad in every other sense.

@soragirl792 A parody might not be the right word, but it's an allusion to the dove commercial where they point out the hypocrisy in a beauty product marketing themselves by promoting natural beauty in an ad and promoting "improvements" in all other. However, "allusion" doesn't attract as many viewers as "parody"

omg! it's so true! one of the ads said something like "buy our products to help raise money"
of course you're gonna raise money, bimbos.

@fireandice027 no, it's called thinking and not getting sucked in by PR campaigns like this. It's pretty obvious Dove is doing it because it would help their company.. it isn't cynical but just stating what is obvious...at least to many people
The people who are miffed about this parody are like children who are hurt when they find out there's no such thing as Santa Claus. Dove is pretending to care about self esteem to boost sales, period. Don't send your kids to a hooker to teach them about chastity.

I totally agree with you! Believe it or not I don't remember them saying "Buy our products and you can look like this girl!!" I remember them saying "No wonder our perception of beauty is disorted."
