Excellent observation. Russians will always remain a mystery for the western world. Even Slavic nations, with deep lingual and cultural connections (I myself am a Croat), sometimes have problems with understanding Russia. Russia has reinvented itself so many times, survived much horrors and committed much crimes herself, but deep in the core of the Russian collective awareness lies the unmatched spirituality and pure beauty. Russians are both a force and a miracle of nature.

Russia went through communism which tried to kill spirituality, and they thought they did but they were wrong. Russians may seem intimidating to the world and the main reason for it because in the very root of Russian culture is incredibly strong spirituality and faith.

@142Cyril Soviet Union is what changed all that. Although USSR gave a very intimidating and powerful to Russia, still it lost its spirituality. Now its regaining it I hope.

When I hear such chants it makes me think of the depths of spirituality the Russians once possessed. Their nation is so demonised today in the media but could this be because in the foundation of the nation there is such a deep holiness that the modern world is compelled to hate them?

May God continue to bless the Russian people with the richness of their spirit and faith. Russia has been the defender of the "true faith". Russia has endured so much hardship in her history and by the Grace of God, they continue to flourish in spite of it all.
