The Colorado Railroad Museum showed off the restored RICO on July 24, 2010. The car was built in the early 1880's and saw service on the D&RGW and the Rio Grande Southern. The car was purchased by the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club in 1952, and was given to the CRRM in 2006 where it has been undergoing restoration.

  • The paper wheels are long gone. The car was purchased from the D&RG in the early 1890s. It started as RGW postal car 83, When it first arrived on the RGS, it was converted to a dining car (C-3) for crew use as the RGS was being built. At one point it was the "Montezuma". Up until it became the Superintendents car (Rico), it was Pullman Green. Even though it had different interior configurations over the years, as an RGS car, it was always the red. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching the video.
