Dorothy Collins displays her versatile ability for phrasing lyrics in this song which was launched in the 1945 film version of State Fair. Yes, back in the 70s I did a 3-month prod. of 'Applause' with her in CT. A great Margo! She was as charming, humble, supportive and professional as you could ask for. Great fun at parties - she would turn pages for me as I played for the actors to sing. She was married to Holgate and had her adorable mom with her there. She had a rough time w/ her asthma then but always wowed our large audiences in this in-the-round dinner theatre, Candlelight. I'm now a Musical Dir. in Atl. and teach voice.

@soaringsound Who are you? Did you know her. I did a paper on Big Bands and fell in love with her voice.

SO charming! One of the warmest voices ever accompanied by one of the most lovely personalities to grace the stage. (she was just as charming and warm off-stage.) A great lady who's greatly missed.
