Rendition on tenor recorder of "Bonny Portmore," which according to Wikipedia is "a traditional Celtic folk song which details the centuries of Ireland's old oak forests, specifically The Great Oak of Portmore, being leveled for military and shipbuilding purposes. Loreena McKennitt performed this song on her 1991 album, The Visit."

  • Yes so much better, i hate added reverb.

  • nic vibrato

  • Your recorder sounds so much better without all the reverb you have in the other clips I've seen. All the reverb is drowning out the character of sound.

What kind of tenor recorder is it, by the way? The profile looks familiar, but I cannot quite place it.

  • This is really beautiful to hear, it's so soulful. Thanks for sharing!

  • Sounds great - good to hear you play the tenor without (noticable) reverb

  • Eat your heart out, Loreena McKennitt.
