The research is worthless if you don't understand Donaghys Allegation towards Bavetta to begin with. Donaghty never claims that Bavetta let underdogs win, he just claims that he was the type of ref that kept games close. So he still influenced the game, but not the outcome(it wasnt his intention).He also never suggested that he only bet on Bavettas officiating,he noticed patterns in refs calls, some call more fouls on certain things than others,also grudges towards players, favored players, etc.
