A journey to the remains of the ill-fated WWI British submarine H5 which was sunk by 'friendly' action close to the very end of the conflict. For many years remaining unfound 60 metres beneath the Irish Sea... her crew now remembered and honoured. Since I filmed her the wreck has been rightly designated as a war grave and a protected site.

  • I asked you to name diver abuse to the H5 not some U Boat. You said, "There we go. It doesn't take long for the 'good diver' to show himself-up as an abusive sort" - 'good diver'? Ha-ha don't get me mixed-up with someone else, I'm a neanderthal who will lead with the left and follow with a right cross. You picked on the wrong guy, I'm a professional diver who has no wreck artifacts and no interest in wrecks other than earning dosh from filming them, legally. I may block you soon, you're boring!

  • You say; "The very reeason it was classified was because of divers causing problems" - aha, so, I get it, you just don't like divers! I'll wager you can't identify one single diver lelated incidence of damage or mis-treatment of the H5.

  • You again pixyarial? No matter - if you take a close look at the video you'll see an archeaologist who was the leader of our team. It was filmed (by me)in July 2002 and we know it wasn't a war grave at that time as another member of our team (our legal adviser) was non-other than the legal expert advising the MOD on classifying and designating their war graves. Go and do you worst pix-kid 'cos we were 100% kosher and you make yourself look more of an interfering fool with every post!

  • No, you see, I have a long association with this sub and the families of those who were lost. So, whilst it's a plaything to you, it is a sensitive matter to others. Illegal or not, it's the humanity that counts. I will check on the 'official hoops' you went through, though...

  • Only YOU (again) claim its a 'plaything' to me/us It may be just as sensitive to someone like me who has dived the site. As an ex-Royal Naval rating I can tell you that the 'humanity' counted for me. Why do you think we went to the trouble of laying a wreath on the site (one that we bought). We made no attempt to enter the wreck, took nothing away, treated it with reverence, layed a wreath and... (here's the best part) did all that BEFORE she was classified as a war grave. End of issue I think.

  • What is REALLY interesting is that H5 is an official War Grave, so why are you diving on it?

  • No pixarial, what is REALLY interesting is how YOU think that WE dived the H5 without jumping through all the required official hoops. So pixarial you'd best go and poke your nose into someone else's business 'cos if you wanted to catch us with our trousers down... you have failed miserably!

  • Diving on war graves is not illiegal - taking stuff from the is though. Note the difference. Considering most wrecks off the UK coast are war graves and are dived frequently with no drama I don't see what your issue is. All the divers I know dive war wrecks/graves, myself included, and treat them with the utmost of respect, as they should be.

  • looks like someone got a meddlesome head on and didnt even know the true legalities of diving protected wrecks. it appears berkcam had permission to dive the wreck so enuff said. good vid too. thanks fer posting

  • "Shots taken inside Scarborough's Sub Aqua club bar show a U-boat periscope removed from a wreck found off the coast. U-Boat UB107 sank during a Royal Navy attack in the First World War. It went down with all hands." The Independent, 11th November 1999. There are plenty more...
