  • Generally about ten feet or so.

  • No. The collar picks up a signal from the underground wire when the dog is within ten to fifteen feet.. Once the animal passes over the wire and moves that distance beyond, the collar stops responding.

  • I love my dogs and I want nothing but the best for them. So when I bought shock collars I didn't buy one of those wimpy brands that just gives them an uncomfortable static correction. I bought the heavy duty, heart defibrillating sport dog shock collars. I can trust sport dog collars to keep my mutts from trying to go beyond the boundaries of the known universe (my yard). When I hear a blood curdling yelp I know it was money well spent, because lets face it, if you smell burnt hair, it must be

  • @coolman5242 thats not necessarily true. some dogs are untrainable and try to chase after birds, and stay locked up all day otherwise they'd run away, like a Jack Russel. Plus, the shock isn't that bad, it just scares the crap out of them, which is why the squeal.

  • That is so cruel.

  • i got a siberian husky when he was just a pup. he started getting curious and when i work in the garage he likes to keep me company but started jumping or bolting out the door way, one day he almost got hit by some jerk speeding down our quite street and slammed his breaks.i yelled and cursed him out because it was almost around time for school to get out and many kids walk by my street. i had to put an invisible fence and i wasnt to happy but its for his own safety but trained him with treats

  • @MichaelSchmucker Yup. I tortured my dog by not allowing him to run on the road and get hit by cars.

    I'm a monster. /sarcasm.

  • @coolman5242 hey shut-up

  • I got the fence at amazon for $60.00 But how to install without the saw? or where can I rent one?

  • @coolman5242 Thats true...

  • @MichaelSchmucker So its okay that a dog has to where a collar so they have to stay in a field or else they get shocked? Not only is that torture, thats just an excuse for terrible owners who can't properly train their pets.

  • @coolman5242 yep. it's torture. they're forcing the dog over the current, against it's will. that's the complete purpose of this. to torture dogs. (sarcasm)
