Yes, the 1st 3 epis (Season 1) had the best sfx, w/ the "Derelict" having to be the #1 best of all.

After all these years there is not even spaceship as cool as the jupiter 2, I have to tell you whoever design this ship had some kind of imagination..i say wow ! Excellant job..

@mjb519 Those sounds were also used in Time Tunnel in some of the episodes. Irwin always liked to recycle. I'm glad he did. Those guys knew how to come up with some wicked sound effects.

Actually, this scene was reused from the 2nd season episode "Ghost Planet" and would be reused a few more times during the 3rd season. The budget had been cut so they were forced to reuse a lot of footage in the 3rd and final year.

the greatest space ship of all time!.. have always loved the engine power sound effects used for the original Jupiter II when landing or during lift off - the rare episodes featuring scenes of the power core were also great! the 60's were a cool time to be a kid!

@727100bear Yeah it was one of my favorite shows as a kid too. Believe it or not I did have a problem with that one episode where Will is in the engine room being chased by some weird alien or something. They portrayed the engine room so big and you can tell by looking at the schematics of the ship that there's no way you could fit a room that size in the Jupiter 2!
