Brief video showing patient Karon Schindler before and after a procedure at the Emory Voice Center. Schindler had an operation on her neck that left one of her vocal chords paralyzed. For years afterward, she had a scratchy voice, found speaking exhausting, and had a hard time being heard. Doctors at the Emory Voice Center were able to restore her voice; although Schindler still has a paralyzed vocal chord, she can speak loudly, sing, and no longer has to dwell on her voice.
