Hip Hop Mayhem (PHOENIX) -- Phoenix Police are investigating the arrest of a 15-year-old girl who was seen on tape being slammed to the ground by the arresting officer.

Officer Patrick Larrison has been placed on administrative leave while police carry out both an internal and criminal investigation into the arrest.

A YouTube video captured the Jan. 25 arrest on camera, but police didn't become aware of the video until this Tuesday. Someone in the police department saw the video and reported it.

"That type of video is very concerning to us," said Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump at a press conference Thursday. "What you see in the video is of great concern to the Phoenix Police Department about how a member of this community was treated."

The 15-year-old and her family have not been identified. The three-minute-long video starts with the girl having a fight in public with a woman who police identified as her mother. The mother has her daughter pinned to the ground in the parking lot of Charter East, part of the Ombudsman Charter Schools in Phoenix. The girl was reportedly intoxicated and sharing alcohol at the school, ABC Affiliate KNXV reported.

The charter school works with at-risk students.

The girl, wearing denim shorts and a T-shirt, fights her mother's hold, eventually getting up. The mother keeps trying to grab the girl, nearly pulling her shirt off.

When the police arrive, the girl is walking away from her mother. Officer Larrison can be seen on camera trying to catch up with the girl. He picks up speed. As she turns around to see him, he body-slams her, sending her to the ground.

"A charge here in what we're looking at, is there evidence of an aggravated assault or not," said Crump. "We have notified the County Attorney's Office of the video."

Officer Larrison is a six-and-a-half-year veteran of the Phoenix police force.

The girl was charged with aggravated assault for striking a school employee along with making threats to officers, police said.

  • Wtf?

  • it was at a school for shitty troubled kids, most of them are there because if they dont go to some kind of school, they will go to JAIL, you just see this teenage girl, he sees a nother punk ass kid with a chip on thier shoulder, these kids attack cops with weapons ALL THE TIME. these kids are scum, and deserve to be treated as such, perhaps knock some sense into their skulls.

  • Well... Look at the video closely... She looks like she was about to pull something out of her bra or shirt whichever you perfer, but police have to take action where there 15 or 40.. in other words what if she did have a weapon? Would you wait to find out?!

  • justifiable? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! FUCK ARIZONA POLICE! This girl was 15 years old. this cop needs to have his head busted in.

  • Wow law enforcement has gotten pritty brutal. Video after video cops beating up on people who pay to have them employed... sad but this guy represents how far the usa has plunged into a police state. What good are rights if they can subvert them. The police have turned into the mafia or something. Yeah they are the family! And the news is complisit!

  • Probably justifiable? An unarmed 15 yr. old kid, walking away from an armed officer is a THREAT?? Does he know how fucking stupid he sounds saying that? Watch him hit her...watch both her feet fly off the ground-- if the m.f. jacked my daughter up like that, I'd OWN the son' of a bitch-- demoted to being the faggot cop that sits overnight by an open ditch somewhere holding a little flag. This brutality is wrong on so many levels.

  • No weapon was reported. So that force can never be justified. Then any citizen would be justified in shooting first to defend themselves from police aka city employees

  • Phoenix PD calls this "body checking" 2 cops did the same shit to me when I told them to get off my property. They went to the house next door (which I also owned) and I told them I own this one too and you need to get off of it and stand on the sidewalk.

  • haha that cop sped up when she turned around and BAMMMMM

  • she probably deserved it :D
