This is a 30 second Ad spot I created for the ACLU. It's a strategic video meant to reframe a political debate that was going on at the time.

It is about the PATRIOT ACT, but does not mention the PATRIOT ACT, because that would be unpatriotic. Instead I say that the constitution is in danger and we must protect our freedoms.

The Ad does not represent the views of the ACLU.

Further more, this is an experiment. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

  • @ghengisconrad

    They WERE.

One of them crushed a legal secession, and the other sank us further into debt, got us into a war, and then took the credit for getting us out of the depression (It was post-war spending that saved the economy).

  • So you're willing to give up your right to privacy and freedoms because a bunch of neo's think it's the only they can fight a bunch of non existent terrorists. And the what do you have to worrya bout is the ultimate bullshit argument. That is not the point.

  • You're right. FDR and Lincoln WERE terrible people.

  • The ACLU was begun by a man who wanted to change America in drastic ways. He said, "communism is the goal." To this day, the ACLU plays the system to get what they want. They could never get what they want through the executive branch because they want what the majority of America doesn't want. They play the system by finding liberal judges and involving themselves in controversial cases. The liberal judge rules in the aclu's favor and they get what they want like spoiled children.

  • yeah, so i guess FDR and Lincoln were major haters of the constitution then. they took away more rights then Bush during their wars.

  • so, you're willing to let even more Americans die just so the government doesn't know that you make phone sex calls?

  • lame

  • that "nothing to hide" argument is total bullshit. The consitution say we can hide even if e have nothing to hide.

  • I'm worried about my fucking freedom, if this place isn't fucking free like they say it is America needs to quit saying so

  • This is stupid. The President wasn't trying to tap calls made within the US, he was tapping those calls that were made to and from the middle east. Besides, if you aren't trying to plan some attack on America, what do you have to worry about?
