  • @SR71U2ube They are actually brown and white, and they are still in use. Astronauts performing spacewalks in the US EMU (extravehicular mobility unit) still use the CCA (communications carrier assembly) .. It looks identical to the "old" CCA but I would guess that they have upgraded the microphones and speakers since the 60s & 70s.

  • @A86 I know those suits just said USA all over!!! Im actually kinda happy the shuttle is done. now it might inspire our renewed Nasa to be bold again. im sure they learned plenty about orbital spaceplanes in the last 30 years to be happy. It is time to jump into the deep Ocean of space again! I hope they bring back the caps to go with it lol. The orange launching suits looked okay to me but the black an white caps would go along way to make them look cooler!

  • @SR71U2ube - Hell yeah! I don't know why but I always thought those things looked badass. That was one minor thing that bugged me about the Shuttle program - the suits didn't look as epic to me. The Apollo suit just screams "Epic" for some reason, at least to me. I hope they design the Orion suits to look like updated versions of the Apollo ones or a crossover of the Apollo and Shuttle suits.

  • They were some real space cadet's huh!

  • This video is making my nose itch! LOL--these guys were awesome.

  • I don't know too much about Gen. Stafford's personality, other than that it was pretty dry Great Plains Okie type, but that dude just might be my favorite all time astronaut. He was possibly THE most technically qualified and accomplished astronaut of that era. I've always thought he looked like he has a wallet that says 'BAD MUTHA' I like John Young alot, too, but he's just so dang focuses and kinda geeky....I like Stafford better. Geno is too political for me.
