After travelling to El Golfo on the East coast, and deciding the swell was bigger, and braver than us, We decided to Paddle from Playa Quemada, along the coast to Papagayo, to 'close the loop' on this particular stretch of coast. But as always, things don't go to plan. We set out just as it became cloudy, and just as the wind seemed to freshen up!!! We went alone on this trip, as Matt had to work (Boo) and Lucy still had the flu. As We approached Punta Gorda, it became increasingly aparrent that We wouldn't be able to go further, as the Sea state was steadily increasing, it was a bit 'Hey Lads Hey' whatever that means, and by this time Matt was getting cramp,so We landed at the nearest safe landing spot, which was coincidentally the beach where the 'Shrine' was situated. I think this is Los Haches, but the map I have is not conclusive, so I may be wrong. The Shrine is a remarkable little place, and I knew nothing of it, but Matt was aware, after seeing it on the Lanzarote Sea Kayaking website. It's a superb place, and I'd like to find out the full story behind it. We did, as is tradition, leave a momento. All we could do was inscribe a stone as you can see. For the music, I donned my full Matador regalia, and became Joaquin Gash( My stage name should I ever make it big ha ha,fat chance) performed the theme on my Santos Martinez SM80 guitar, after selecting 2 suitable drum beats from my drum machine. Many takes were required, it's very difficult, as the microphones are very sensitive. I need an empty house, turn off my boiler, hope there is no wind or rain, and even turn off my computer. If you listen closely at certain times you can hear the dog snoring!! It's all good fun, and a great challenge, composing, and producing music to match the visual theme, this I feel is one of my better attempts, and virtually wore a set of strings out doing it.
@delboyjdf The tourist came over, saw me, then went and asked Matt for directions, ha ha.Yes it was a cornucopia of trinkets, it's really well kept though, somebody must, keep it tidy on a regular basis. Well I'm glad somebody liked the music, I spent ages trying to get it right, trying to get a Flamanco vibe, I was going to use it again for the next video, which would've been the last Lanzarote video..........but I've lost the tape!!! arrgh disaster.

Great vid mate, not a lot of places you can visit these days in yer pants and not get arrested! Looked like a hand grenade went off down a charity shop??? :-)
I assume your good self composed the music? You actually had me tapping my foot at one point, you must be getting better ;-)

@steelydan473 Wll that confirms your great taste and judgement, ha ha. If your interested, give it a go, I know it's a cliché but if I can do it,anybody can. I am actually not that good at kayaking,a lot of people assume, that, because I make these videos, I am Uber Kayaker, I can assure you I'm not, but it certainly doesn't stop Me having a whale of a time.

@onlywhenpissed And the guy with the movie star good looks, in the inflatable, ha ha. Yeah, it was a cracking trip, pity We couldn't have got further around the point, but, if you look what time We got back, there wasn't any extra time available, so, We got everything right.

What better advert for recreational sea kayaking could you want? Paddling with an outrageously named kayaker, voodoo, Buzz Lightyear with a spliff in his hand, trinkets, treasure and more!
