EL PASO — The Post 9/11 Montgomery GI Bill (Chapter 33), is a new education program from the Department of Veterans Affairs that provides education and housing assistance to individuals with at least 90 days of active duty service on or after Sept. 11, 2001.
But with so many applicants, it caused a backlog that stalled education benefits to active duty members, veterans and dependents.

First, Ch.31 is Vocational Rehabilitation and is not part of the GI Bill. Transitioning from benefit to benefit does takes some time and the time depends on your regional processing offices number of pending claims. You act is if receiving a benefit is the worst possible thing in the world and your mortified that you have to go to college like a normal person who receives no benefits. Give me a break.

I applied for benefits by mail, so I'm really hoping it goes through smoothly.
