Mayukh Hazarika at the 30th Assam Convention 2009, Washington D.C.

Mayukh (Raja) Hazarika is a budding artist from Assam who needless to say is the perfect torch bearer for passing his father's (Jayanta Hazarika) as well as his uncle's (Dr. Bhupen Hazarika) legendary works to the next generation. In addition to singing their songs that have remained as all time classic hits in Assam and the outside world, Mayukh also composes his own songs and has established himself as an upcoming artist in his own right. Met Mayukh in D.C. at the 30th Assam Convention 2009 where he came as a guest artist. A polite Mayukh said: " I come under the microscope all the time when people compare me with my father. It is not easy being his son and following his footsteps." Not only he won the hearts of admiring fans at the convention with his humble disposition, he left people spellbound craving for more with his flawless performance.
