Classic Game Room HD reviews MISSILE COMMAND for Atari 5200! This amazing coin-op classic makes an outstanding appearance on the Atari 5200 with this 1982 game cartridge. This CGRHD review has gameplay footage from Missile Command, the arcade classic from the early '80s. Shoot down intercontinental ballistic missiles with your Missile Command shield of protective missiles. It's like controlling a Patriot missile battery with a half working Atari 5200 controller to save billions of lives. Awesome! Gameplay, graphics and sounds are nearly arcade perfect in this Atari 5200 release of Missile Command. Although there is a trackball available for the 5200 I use the stock controller which is terrible. Gameplay rocks though, as does the overall quality and presentation of the Atari 5200 release of Missile Command. Now if we only had a track ball.... Classic Game Room HD reviews Atari 5200 games as an Atari 5200 reviewer reviewing classic old school Atari 5200 video game cartridges. See a complete list of Atari games reviewed at ClassicGameRoom.net. For new and retro gaming reviews be sure to watch CGRHD and nothing else... NOTHING. NEVER! Except the A-Team. I like the A-Team. How does the Atari 5200 Missile Command compare vs. the Atari 2600 Missile Command? Watch both reviews and see.

  • If you were born in 1978 then you seriously need to learn how to type. I'm 13 and look at me.

    Just sayin'.

  • The old games just get faster and harder until you die, just like life.

  • This game sounds like a car-alarm when it introduces each level.

  • I remember playing this game in the Arcades with the rotating ball control. Classic 80's!! Right up there with Asteroids and Pac Man.

  • @Polaf3456 I'm sure if you think that, everyone must think you are a real genius.

Seriously, nobody takes you seriously if you can't use proper grammar.

  • You cannot win Missile Command. It's a statement about the futility of nuclear war and the creator had nightmares about his own game for a long time.

  • I miss the little mushroom cloud animation on the 2600 version when your city gets exploded

  • @dogeymon83 they did, on the Atari Jaguar!

  • AVGN did not have kind words for the Atari 5200 track ball.

  • @TenguGuy I'm 14, and there are 20 year-olds typing like it's their first time.

  • I wish they'd remake Missile Command on a 64-bit console. :(

  • Yeah just a random heads up Mark (that I'm sure you wont see anyway) most of these exact same games are indeed available as Atari 400/800 (etc.) carts.

And BTW, if you ever actually do get around to 'tracking' down that track-ball... make sure to swap the cue-ball out for an 8-ball or 9-ball, like I did back in the day. ;)
