@headbusta25 It's an AK-74, not an AK-47. The AK-74 is chambered in 5.45x39. The AK-47 is chambered in 7.62x39. And like the other guy said, dry firing won't hurt most guns - just don't do it with rimfires and antiques. Seriously, why would you post if you don't know what you're talking about?

@CombatSamboFighter they are actually not that different. the ak47 used a machined steel reciever and the akm used a stamped sheet metal reciever. both of these were chambered for 7.62x39. the akm also came with a muzzle brake. the ak74 also used a stamped reciever but was chambered for 5.45x39. the ak74 also has a flash suppressor instead of just the slant type brake. the 2 are easily distinguished by the shapes of their magazines. ak74 mags are much straighter than akm/ak47
