Shot at Seligman and Washburn, MO, Respectively.

They may be old, but at Washburn, they were moving, For Sure!

  • Dose the A&M have any highnose Alcos?

  • if they do, i haven't seen them yet. I think there's a couple of them sitting outside of the Springdale Shops.

  • If I'm not mistaken, the buildings you can see through one of the open cars toward the end were from the Pennington Seed depot I worked at as a young man, shoveling fescue seed during the summers. I think a couple other buildings are new; I haven't been there for a while.

  • The Seligman shots are across the tracks from Norm's grocery in downtown, the Washburn Shots are from MO 90 down from the Southwest Schools.

  • the Arkansas and Missouri railroad runs pretty much from the UP joint at Fort Smith Arkansas, north through Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers Arkansas, up through Seligman and Washburn Missouri to run with the BNSF to about Springfield MO. like was said, this is at Seligman and Washburn MO.

  • @trainlord11 yup. There are still a few in service, but not very many.

  • nice catch

  • dang i love shortlines that put k5las on thier engines

  • The A&M is an All ALCo operation if I am not mistaken.

  • @railwayman those units r numbered 56 and 57

  • @trainlord11 A&M does not have any high nose engines at all

  • The CN units never got repainted. In fact, one of them was scrapped and the other two are currently out of service. Track speed on the A&M varies greatly, from Fort Smith to Van Buren speed is 20 mph. From Van Buren to Springdale the speed is 35 mph. From Springdale to Rogers its 35 mph. From Rogers to Monett Missouri its 49 mph. The line is controlled by Track Warrant Control, dispatcher is there but they only do the track warrants and lower the Arkansas River Bridge when needed.

  • what is the speed for the A&M? and is it dispatched with Track warrent Control?

  • did those cn units ever get re painted?

  • Thanks for the great videos I live in Garfield and can't get enough of those Alcos! Great horns!!
