btw you know how to enable root on mac lion?
-
@macheads101 annoying.. thanks though

@carbidutz Usually your prompt includes your machine's host name. Unfortunately, a lot of the time Mac OS X decides to automatically chose this for you.

One more thing. I am trying to install netBeans for my macbook pro and it won't allow me throwing an error"you need java 6 to run this app". I saw you have netBeans in your dock. Any ideas?

@carbidutz I don't think Mac OS X comes with Java pre-installed anymore. You will have to download it from sun's website.

it all worked very well until you started on the copying, moving and renaming things. my terminal keeps telling me: "No such file or directory" ..which NOT true.. so now I'm wondering do I have to do something else? be in the same directory I'm copy pasting from?

@beguie If you are trying to copy a file, either you need to enter a relative or absolute path to the file, meaning that you should be CD'd to the directory containing the item that you are trying to rename or copy.
