It must help when to be a national dance champion with your brother! Dear God, did her dance training show better than anyone else on the US team. She and Shannon both make this routine beautiful.

@htownhomie06 The only person I see watching this routine is Martha.

this was the strongest team compulsory for the USA right? zmeskal 9.925, okino 9.9, miller 9.887, strug 9.887, dawes 9.812 ... any1 else catch when u watch team USA compulsory floor routines, u can always see a EUN or ROM coach carefully watching. thought that was funny.

This is the compulsory floor- performed during the compulsory round of the competition. Look up Betty's optional floor (team finals, AA finals) - & you'll see her own, more difficult routine. Compulsory routines were easier- but the judges were looking for a high-standard of form & execution. Every single elite gymnast in the world performed identical compulsory routines on each apparatus.
You must be young if you have no idea what this routine is about. Compulsories were abolished in 1997.

I am so confused.... was that routine really easy or is it just me? What did she score?
Maybe of all Karolyi gymnasts. All that dance training she did as a kid really showed here. She performed this routine so well, with her signature grace and expression.

@russe263 What do you mean by "easy"? Is this something anyone could do? Or even a recreational gymnast? No. Simple technique is often more difficult than dozens of fancy tricks.
