Buy my book from www.matthewsylvester.com/shop/.

This is Lesson 1 on the Lower outer forearm block. In it we demonstrate both the karate and TKD chambers for the block and how they can be used. We also demonstrate the Chunbi Sweep (C Matthew Sylvester 2007)

  • Came in from your Facebook post on "Should it be practical" expecting to see typical TKD-- flying kicks, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you are doing what I personally believe all form-based styles should do: look beyond the obvious use of the motion to see how something might be applied.

By this, I mean most people would see the lower forearm block as just that; however, you have multiple interpretations-- a strike, a trap, a throw. Not that my opinion matters, but great job!

  • Glad you like it and I'm glad that I haven't met the 'Taekwondo' label :)

  • @kangzhuang Thanks for your comments on this. Do you do similar things?

  • Stop pretending that this is practical please.

  • Thanks for watching and for giving feedback.

  • I had a few months of TKD 3 days a week; I never understood how I could really oppose or deal with a simple attack. This video really helps me with that. I can now mentally rehearse along with physical rehearsal. More, please!

  • As a jujutsuka, it's nice to see taekwondo/karate being taught like this.

    Good work.

  • @DragonZord90 If you want your money back all you have to do is return it to the shop you bought it from. So long as it's 'as new' you shouldn't have any problem returning it.

  • Good work , I like it.

  • dude, he's your own man!..dont be so mean to him...lol...
