That's just wrong in every goddamn way. Layne was one of the greatest, and AIC will never be the same without him. I'm not saying that I don't like the new AIC, and DuVall for that matter. The point is you can't rip on Layne like that and call yourself a fan of Alice.
That said, AIC still has it's backbone, which is Jerry Cantrell. He wrote most of their material, and that's the way it is. I'm seeing them in July, and I can't fucking wait!
You made a huge mistake......this was one of the best shows I've ever been to and I've been to alot of them over the years. I know the original Alice sound.....and this is still Alice.....and this is just the beginning, you watch.
Just fucking tired of reading about Layne this Layne that. He is fucking dead. Forget him and enjoy the best Alice ever. They never sounded as good before.
@JT6999 Totally understand where your coming from bro. But no other bands are playing music like this. Jerry Cantrel makes great music, and it's tragic how Layne Stayley (sp) went out but I think he would be proud that 13 years later the band is still rocking, and sounding better than the MTV force fed bullshit thats on the radio now. In other words I disagree, Alice in chains is alive and well. The lyrics are dark and deep, the guitars are heavy and growling, the vocals haunting. Great music.
Was thinking about going to this , but it is far from " ALICE IN CHAINS " . Even Jerry should know better , Layne made Alice ( I mean what we call Alice ) and there will never be an A&C (at least the real one ) . To whomever reads this , listen to the old , fucking sweet live jams from them . I do enjoy the new album , but they need to stop calling themslves Alice because it is a far fuckin' cry from the real deal .....
