@MrStoneClark i think the Tidal Waveswhere bigger in Japan but therewas a quick Warning too, even by SMS..Japan was better prepared for this, the People in 2004 hadjust no time to react..

@SuperPoliceState No... Japan has the most advanced EQ detecting system in the world - they did have the worlds third largest economy... Hati is a 3rd world country. It's all about the money.

@moonrider67 The tsunami in '04 killed over 200,000 people mate, the one in Japan was over 20,000 souls lost. . That said I assume you mean the EQ was bigger in '04 than in '11?

@moonrider67 - Yes, it was horrific. It is amazing that the death toll was much bigger, but as I wrote below, few people wanted to live on the coast. Thanks for the warm wished. Best in 2012!

@MiranUT ... thank you, i understand now... anyway, RIP for the Victims, i think that if it's happened to other country, Dead and Missing, where Millions.. i'm 45 yo, anddon;t remember to see anything like this... worst than the tsunami and earthquake in 2004..
