  • ey alle ham die M-Schürze dran!! Da is der M5-Look ja fast schon mainstream :D

    nich mit mir...

  • I'm planning to buy a 2002 E39 530i with the M Sport Package, as my first car within the next few months.

  • E39 model has really advance in Tech, but cheaply built compare with LEXUS GS.

most of the surfaces are Painted Plastic, which breaks after years.

Leather is cheap too(7-Series has Premium Leather), peel and fade after years, like Toyota does, not Lexus.

Engine is good but slower response, unless you have a V8

Parts are unreasonably expensive for the car, ie. one shock = $200 (wo labor)

I have more complains, but loved the car when i had it

    -former E39 2000 530i Owner, now own a GS350

  • BMW = Broken Most Weeks

  • I love Beemers. High quality technology.

  • Hmph... Japan designed it did they also engineer it ?

  • Gotta say the E34 is the ultimate saloon - 2nd to last 'proper' BMW - E36 the last - after that just feel the designs lost their way. However i have not driven an E39 and i have heard they are built very well.....great vid!

  • Definitively the 500 series 2002-2003 were better built and quieter than the new series from 2005 on. I have a 2008 528i and it is a lot noisier in the cabin that my previous 2002 530i. The door hinges of the new series are not as tight BMW has changed the tolerances for sure. Close the door of a 2002-2003 BMW vs the newer models and you will hear the difference they are as lose as any American car....

  • @killthejustice The headlights on the E60 grow on you after a while. That car really needs the M-sport bodykit or m5 front end to come together nicely. As someone who owned an E39 and currently drive an E60 here is how I slice it. My E39 540i 6-mt was a beast and I loved the simple lines of it. The e60 525i 6-mt I have has a better ride is more fuel efficient and looks like nothing else on the road. Its tough choosing between the two

  • It's ironic that what is accepted as the best-looking German sedan ever made was designed by a Japanese man. "German engineering" doesn't come exclusively from native-born Germans. :) Sometimes people are ignorant to this and suppose that American, Japanese, and other cars from different nations are always inferior to the best German cars.
