Tehnically we do but keeping the load moving is generally the best policy and with a Police escort they tend to do just that.

Cool video! I always get a buzz when I see something like this on the raods!! Out of interest who pays for the Police & your services? The owner of the truck? Also is a V8 in a truck quite a small engine?

The haulier is responsible for paying the cost of for any private or Police escort in the UK. I think a V8 is a pretty standard engine format but it's the CC and torque that counts in terms of power but there are a LOT of things that make up a good heavy haulage tractor. The driver is 1950gah (YouTube ID) - I'm sure he would answer your question in much more detail if you were to ask him.

stop giving the truck drivers the stick. all the spots are there for safety and also to help the driver do the very best job he can in all weathers, day and night. plus i'm pretty sure you would want to see something this big coming towards you!

I don't normally comment on YouTube vids but this is AMAZING haulage, I hit the "forgot password" link just to comment! Full credit to that driver, spectacular handling of an enormous load, I envy him, I would LOVE to get into heavy haulage like this, but Class1 licence is so expensive these days :( I have class2 but it's just not in the same league ;) 5 Stars - spectacular! Thumbs up to ALL involved!
