  • Malarchuk actually told reports after he recovered that he thought he was going to die so he wanted to get off the ice quickly so his mother didn't have to watch her son die on tv. but the trainer for the sabers was a vietnam vet who served as a field medic and was able to pinch his an important vein in malarchuks neck that stopped the bleeding until medics arrived...... amazing that he survived.....talk about being blessed.

  • my jaw dropped seeing this

  • It was like watching your kid die?? No shit

  • @vjlcolo This actually happened to my friend Nick Vogel. You might be able to find a story about him somewhere. His throat was slit and the doctors say he was just minutes from death if somebody (I forgot who it was) didn't come on the ice and pinch a vital artery in his throat. I talked to him and he said that he got really lucky. The blade cut away the thin protective layer of the jugular. Had that been cut, he would have died instantly.

  • why would you laugh you tool?
