@RVO174 I did eat them, actually. I stewed them with some lamb, and they added an interesting slightly sour taste to the sauce. I enjoyed it a lot. The skins taste like squash, or zuchini when eaten raw. :)

@marco6191115 I got these from a market on the East Coast called Harris Teeter. However I have seen them at most major US retail food chains including Safeway, Giant, Whole Foods and others. Your best bet is to ask your local grocery store produce manager if he/she can order them. Thanks for watching!

I had my first Kiwano today, it was delicious

@Aufaugen awesome, congrats! I think it's an acquired taste and kind of hard to eat compared to other fruit but it's definitely unique. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I am thinking about eating my skins. I think that slicing them thin and putting them in a curry or a stir fry would be good.
I have seen sites that say not to eat them, but I also have seen sites that say in Africa people eat them all the time. Do you know if there is something about the skin that is bad to eat? Or do people just not eat it because of the spikes?

@Rinji yeah im sure some people who grew up with them in their native country might eat them. The horns/spikes are an issue and I know just from handling them that I wouldnt want to eat them. Be careful if you do. I also don't think the taste would be very appealing but everyone is different. If you try the skin let me know.
