Time to start an actual walkthrough of sorts! I'm having a go at Super Mario - The Lost Levels.
This is in fact Super Mario 2, but as you can see in the video, it was unreleased in the USA, due to its apparently high difficulty for the target audience. Its American replacement was a Famicom game simply repalletted with Mario themes. Being the only Super Mario of this type of game to deviate from standard Mario playing, it came to us with mixed opinions.
Now with Super Mario All-Stars (+ Super Mario World), the actual Super Mario 2 [along with the american version] is bundled in this phenomenal package (which I recommend you buy, for the old-school retro feel; it'll be worth whatever you pay for it). The original SM2 was aptly named The Lost Levels to differentiate it.
---------------
This version plays quite similarly to the original Super Mario. Differences to be noted are:
- obviously the new levels
- option to play as Mario's brother, Luigi; Luigi slips around more and has a bigger jump, which is useful to reach higher places or succeed in jumping further
-the controls are slightly more refined to cater for the two characters; the sloppiness of the first game is reduced for Mario and added to Luigi; however, this allows for two different ways to play, each of which can be mastered [in other words, Mario and Luigi in this game are focused in the way they play, Mario in the first game was just shit]
-A blue/purple mushroom. The only true power-up in the Super Mario games to actually hurt you. This rids you of the power-up you currently have, and if you have none, kills you.
-Saving and continuing is different. In the original Super Mario, you could only save/continue at the beginning of the world (regardless of when in that world you saved). In The Lost Levels, you can save/continue at the beginning of the level in that world, meaning that saves and continues are less arduous [especially when you're like me and you're save states on your emulator work for shit XD]. So for example, in the first Super Mario, you could only save at level 1-1, 2-1, etc. regardless of how far into that world you were. With Lost Levels, you can save at 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and so on.
--------------
In my best save game (though the screen says differently, because my best save game is saved under a different ROM), I have reached World 8s castle (so, 8-4). This means that I have the general gist of actually playing The Lost Levels; as for the rest of the Marios in the package, I have progressed far in all but the american Super Mario 2; yes, I'm one of the people who hate it.
I'm not the best at it, but hopefully my failure in some cases will tickle the funny bone among you =)
I'll be playing the game as far as I can, hopefully finishing it, then I'll move on to the next Super Mario games and hopefully complete them.
Enjoy! =)

My emulator is Snes9x - I'm not sure if it's got a Windows version of Snes9x but I've got the Mac version; I recorded it using the built-in recorder of my emulator, though of course you could use anything that isn't built in, like Fraps/Hypercam for Windows and Screenflow in Mac.
I can see by your video though that you've managed a high quality output! :)

I usually hate in-built recorders. I just put a camera on a tripod and stand it in front of my screen, that way I can commentate live on the video, other than record the video, then commentate over it, I would of forgotten what I was going to say.

If I ever need live commentary on something I can just have Audacity running before I run the in-built recorder; then trim anything unnecessary :)
