Junior, the sole barn owl to hatch from the clutch of the Italy, TX barn owls, crosses over the divider in the nest box.
He spent over an hour there, so these are only the best of that time in my opinion.
First he crosses over, pushing mom right out of the way in the process. Really mom, you couldn't be a little more helpful?
Then mom gets her head in the oddest position checking something out before Junior rises to 3 times his size!
Following that Junior pops his head up, does a little dance, and even moons the camera (avert your eyes at about 5:40 if you're afraid of owl tail!)
The owlet is 25 days old in this video.
