  • Interesting, had some conversations with ppl who are are good friends, but they admitted to me they have been unkind to cyclists in the past. As have I, until I got back on the bike. I think your working on changing your attitude (I'm trying to deal with the same trouble) will be a positive step in the right direction in intereactions between motorists and cyclists. The only change one can make is with oneself, uh? :)

  • I am begining to have doubts that my positive self developement will matter much if I ultimately end up crushed by the bumper of a Ford F350. It gets worse every day.

  • I can hear someone using white lightning on their chain from all the way across the highway. Their chain sounds like a squealing army of a thousand angry chipmunks.

  • for real! especialy on road. it is good for may be ok for about 10 miles MAYBE! but then it just falls off and it doesn't work its way into the rollers where it is really needed. i use a homebrew lube made of a mix 1:3 mineral spirits: 10w 30 full synth oil. works good and doesn't pick up to much road grime and comes clean like you wouldn't believe.

  • You mentioned in one of your comments that you were an aviation mechanic. I bet yould need a 50 gallon drum of Boeshield for a big airplane! White lighning is good for cables too. I like how the Boeshield is like water going into the housing, so you dont have to remove the cables. They sell it at every decent bike shop. Dont ever use white lightning on your chain, it sucks ass!

  • lol sweet! i just use a squirt of white lightning. but im thinking about trying a dry ptfe spray lube from liquid wrench that i can spray into the cable housing. but no we dont ever get our hands on bioshield. thats mostly for big jets and high altitude stuff. and its expensive (as far as aviation is concerned) btw how did u know i was traning to become an aviation mechanic?

  • For bicycle cable lubricant it is unparalelled. It is the shiznit. I also put it on my salad. Very tasty!

  • sorry man. no. biosheld is some hire up stuff. u can get your hands on it. its a product made by boeing and I know its supposed to be very good but if i may ask what are you using it for?

  • I know thats what the Deot of Transportation says but these drivers dont understand that. If im not right on the white line they get all aggressive. Thanks for the comment. Hey you ever use Boesheild t9 when you work on planes?

  • hey socom its good to see that you are still doing well and that you are still commuting to work. but in watching all your videos i have noticed one thing. you tend to hug the line to much. get out in the right tire track when cruising. and you wont be buzzed as much. and at the stop lights and signs (especially the signs) take the lane. that will prevent people from overtaking you illegally. and if they rev the engine just wave and smile. BE SAFE MAN!
