ps it was my first crash and Ive been riding for over 25 years. So yes, it can happen to you regardless of how amazing a rider you are, or how long you have been riding or gone without crashing.

No offense man but look up riding videos and riding drills. Also stop thinking you will never fall and Get some Gear. Get something cheap and thin if you hate gear but get something, I went down in a t-shirt and shorts. Lost some skin, I healed just fine but it was a gentle lesson. As you probably know a gsxr 1000 is nothing to play around with and I know more guys who have got their 1000 and crashed it than guys who havent. I could almost see my bone in my wrist and I was only going 30.
