The new Heavy Relic 1957 Stratocaster is an amazing mixture of vintage vibe and feel combined with modern playability. The guitar has been given a heavy Relic treatment and features a lightweight ash body with a thin-skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish and single-ply parchment pickguard, a one-piece tinted and quartersawn maple neck with a 1957 soft V" shape, a 9.5"-radius fingerboard with 6105 frets, a Fat 50s neck pickup, a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity Fat 50s middle pickup, a 1969 Custom Shop bridge pickup, five-way selector switch, vintage hardware and a bone nut.

  • What amp is he playing through? Is he using any pedals? That tone on JM and KWS's songs is just gorgeous!

  • @xitongzou We were running straight in to a Fender Supersonic. No pedals at all. The guitar and amp combo sounds 10x's better in person! Thanks!

  • Man, this guy's enthusiasm in narrating is stifling. He definitely had too much coffee prior to recording.

  • Sounds great, though I really wanted to hear the bridge pup. Great player btw and great guitar.

  • Many musicians do it though cause the fact is it takes a lonng time to have your guitar look like that over time it will, but that's if you play non stop like me lol I have a 2005 strat and her paints chipping fretboard showing some wear and it honestly makes me feel like its mine I mean it looks nothing like srv strat or anything but I mean she's had her battles lol and I mean I wouldn't trade her for anything not the fact that she looks like that but the fact that with been through so much

  • Lol the reason why people love there guitars abused like that is it build character to your instrument, musicians love the way there guitar looks it looks like its been through hell with you and that you have so many stories to tell about your instrument like its apart of you the only reason I can't stand relic guitars though is the fact you didn't do it you didn't travel with your instrument you wasn't there when that happened you didn't age with your baby so honestly its all fake.

  • the difference between the strats fender made in the 50's and now is you didnt have to pay $4,000 to get that sound. They included it in all strats.

  • very SRV tone... nice hehehhehe
