A Bloomsburg University student is facing several charges after an accident on Monday that left two vehicles severely damaged along with a sidewalk and fence of a nearby home.
Police say BU student Anthony Manero, age 19 of Richborough, PA ran a stop sign while traveling west on Sterner Avenue at the Iron Street intersection. Manero's car struck a truck being driven by Carson Mensinger, age 25 of Berwick. Mensinger then struck a nearby fence and stopped just short of a swimming pool in the back yard of a nearby home. Mensinger said that two other males bailed out of the car being driven by Manero and left the scene.
Mensinger was recently struck by another drunk driver while standing next to his truck in front of Good Old Days on June 3rd. The driver, a Columbia County prison guard eventually lost her job over the hit and run accident. He said he is still going through physical therapy from that accident.
Police charged Manero with DUI, driving while drinking as a minor, duties at stop sign, improper emergence from an alley, and underage drinking.
