@bearnurse1 I'm sorry that you had such an experience. I've been in ECK for twenty six years 27 years now and I too have seen that attitude among some initiates.
Life will teach them. Trust that. And trust your intuition on what is the right path for you. You know your way home.

@bearnurse1 There is no drumming up for membership in Eckankar, Truth cannot be pushed on anybody. Human's aren't ever going to be perfect and that disdain you heard pertaining to other paths was spoken by one; and maybe there was a spiritual lesson for you in that. I now see how Divine Spirit is working in my life; more grounded; a reality of a better me is always in existence. .

@iwasnotalone I have no doubt that tlove was there in the room at that ECK meeting I attended. The thing that turned me off was the disdainful attitude that came across about other metaphysical religions and how ECK was so much "deeper" in it's teachings than the other religions. That is why I dismissed them as pretentious but would be willing to try another ECK meeting some time. If you want to get someone to join your group don't be dismissive of the groups he/she is currently in.

ive NEVER heard anyone in ECK say that ECK is the ONLY way. NEVER. the ECK Masters openly state and recognize the necessity and validity of ALL paths. and this is said in the teachings ... over and over.
