He did not! McCain addressed his audience, did not talk to the military in the same way that he talked to "hockey / soccer moms" etc. Addressing the concerns of the audience is the way to win.

You are impressive honest and exemplify a true caring for people. I wish the rest of the Democrats modeled themselves after you. I was even more impressed at your Independense today after voting no to the bailout. You did not cave in like a coward and vote yes like so many of your colleagues. This my friends is what you need more of in Government. Take notice people.
