yeah but dedede's body is so big which helps, if you watched the animation he sits on them which means that the end animation of his Dthrow ends as they are getting out from under his fat ass

@Vayseth Nope, the chain-grab mechanic is just broken and wasn't tested thoroughly.

@MindinViolet thinking about it again, you're probably right. From a competitive stand-point, it seems VERY obvious to look into...but nintendo doesn't seem interested in that side of the game, and probably has loads of other stuff to check.

Most chain-grabbing is very situational or only works against some characters. I think Nintendo could easily have overlooked it. They can't can't test every possible situation the game offers. They must have known about the Ice Climbers, of course, but perhaps that's inevitable with two characters.

Quite a few characters, in brawl AND melee, have chaingrabs/grab releases that aren't hard to figure out... I'm fairly certain they are in there intentionally.

@Wario128 unless the grab is one that leads into an easy grab again (i.e dedede or falco's down throw), i don't see how 3 grabs in a row is unfair when your opponent had the chance to dodge the other attempts.

You sound old. Arnt old people supose to be at work instead of playing games???

U mad battle opponent?

I definitely don't believe Nintendo intended chain grabbing to be possible, or they would have removed it. There are a lot of characters and tactics to test, and only a few characters can chain grab - easy to miss. While I'm not saying it should be banned, it wouldn't make any sense to include it deliberately.
They must have realized about Mach Tornado, though. What they were thinking when they made Meta Knight, I just don't know. The same thing goes for Snake's tilts.

Playing Brawl in a fair way it's like playing Mario Party in a fair way. Just impossible, the game works as it likes.
King Dedede is my best character and i don't chain grab with him unless my friend or opponent tries to do it to me first. I grab them, throw them down, then grab them one more time, then throw them upwards. On my second throw, i throw in a different direction. If you grab someone 3 or more times in a row, i consider that chain grabbing and it's totally unfair to the game even against the CPU. If you're going to play, people should play fair enough, but nobody really cares as long as they win.

I mean, everyone's definition of "fair" is different. Some people consider chaingrabbing unfair while mashing B and racking up tons of damage with Metaknight followed by running away until the time runs out is unfair. The main issue you've got to realize is regardless of your definition of "fair" they are both viable strategies in this game and were designed to have those abilities by the creators. You can't possibly believe Nintendo didn't put in the chain grab on purpose. it's too easy.
